The RestaurantThe name of the business reminds us of that undesirable insect that has made us suffer more than one bad night and a lot pain from its biting. But as soon as one walks across the door of this popular restaurant, located by the harbour in the old district of Vigo, known by the villagers as "Casco Vello", this is all forgotten once we start enjoying a good evening in all senses. The restaurant offers a gastronomic traditional cuisine, where the seafood from La Ria is the main attraction. It is interesting to see six women in the kitchen by the entrance working under the supervision of Carmiña. They prepare octopus, croquettes, Galician pie, pickled mussels, house made sole, either grilled or fried, roast kid, jarrete (made of Galician meat), various seafood and home made pastry flke cañitas, almond pie, crépes or tocinillo de cielo. All these foods can be tasted by a classic and traditional atmosphere (with a capacity of about 60 customers). In addition, the restaurant's staff provide a warm, cosy and homey atmosphere. With respect to the wine menu, we offer mainly Galician wines which are the perfect match for seafood. This traditional restaurant closes on Sundays throughout the year and from the l5th of August to the l5th of September in the summer. |
